How to Choose a Fun Casino Hire Company: 12 Questions to Ask Before You Book

Search “fun casino hire” and you’ll find plenty of companies who say they’ll bring the glamour of Las Vegas to your event. Some will. Some will turn up with a wobbly table, a bored dealer and a wheel that sticks. The problem is that from a website alone, it’s hard to tell the difference.

This guide gives you the questions to ask, the red flags to watch for, and the things that genuinely separate a professional fun casino company from someone with a card table and a dream.

Why Getting This Right Matters

A fun casino is usually the centrepiece of an event. If it’s good, it’s what guests talk about on the way home. If it’s poor, it’s an awkward corner of the room that people drift away from. You’re not just hiring equipment. You’re hiring the atmosphere of your evening.

12 Questions to Ask Any Casino Hire Company

1. Are the tables full-size, professional casino tables?

Ask directly, and ask to see photos of the actual tables at real events, not stock images. A genuine fun casino table is heavy, full-size and built like the ones in a casino. Fold-up tables with a felt cover are a red flag.

2. Who are the croupiers and how experienced are they?

The dealer makes or breaks the night. Ask how long their croupiers have been running events, whether they’ve worked at weddings and corporate functions specifically, and whether they’re comfortable teaching complete beginners. A company that’s vague about who’ll be running your tables is worth avoiding.

3. How long have you been trading?

Longevity isn’t everything, but a company that’s been running fun casinos for years has worked out the logistics, the timings, the venue quirks and the awkward moments. Fun Casino Fun has been trading since 2014, and Jamie has worked in fun casinos since 2006. Ask any company the same question.

4. Can I read your reviews?

Look for reviews on Google and independent platforms, not just testimonials on the company’s own site. Look at the volume as well as the rating. Two hundred five-star reviews tells a very different story from six. Read a few of the detailed ones: do they mention the croupiers by name? Do they describe the atmosphere? That’s the real signal.

5. Exactly what’s included in the price?

Get it in writing. A proper quote should include the tables, the croupiers, chips and cards, fun money, delivery, setup and breakdown, and the running time. Watch for companies who quote a low headline price and then add travel, setup fees or “dealer charges” later.

6. How much does it cost, and what affects the price?

A reputable company will explain their pricing clearly: usually per table, for a set number of hours, with distance as a factor. As a rough benchmark, single-table packages in the South West typically start around £300, with multi-table events running to £900 and beyond. If a quote is dramatically lower than that, ask what’s been left out.

7. Do you have public liability insurance?

Any professional company should say yes without hesitation and be able to provide a certificate if your venue asks for one. Many venues will ask. If a company hesitates, walk away.

8. Do my guests need a gambling licence, or do you?

The correct answer is: no, because guests play with fun money and nothing of real value is wagered. If a company can’t explain this confidently, they don’t understand their own product.

9. How many guests can each table handle, and how many tables do I need?

A good company will ask about your guest numbers and venue and recommend a sensible setup, not just push the biggest package. As a guide, blackjack seats seven and roulette handles eight to ten at a time, with guests rotating throughout the evening. For 80 to 120 guests, two tables is usually right.

10. Have you worked at my venue, or venues like it?

Experience with marquees, barns, hotels and function rooms matters. Access, floor surfaces, lighting and space all vary. A company that’s worked across your area will already know most of the venues, and will contact new ones to check details in advance.

11. What happens if something goes wrong?

Ask how they handle a dealer being ill, a vehicle breaking down, or a table being damaged. You’re looking for a calm, specific answer that shows they’ve thought about it. “That’s never happened” is not reassuring.

12. What’s your booking and cancellation process?

Look for a clear confirmation, a straightforward deposit, and fair terms. Everything should be in writing before you pay anything.

Red Flags to Watch For

  • No real photos of their tables at real events
  • Stock images of Las Vegas casinos on the website
  • Vague answers about who the croupiers are
  • No reviews, or only reviews on their own site
  • A price that seems too good to be true
  • Reluctance to provide an insurance certificate
  • No physical address or landline
  • Pressure to book immediately

Green Flags: What a Good Company Looks Like

  • Full-size tables you can see in photos and videos from real events
  • Named, experienced croupiers
  • A long trading history
  • A large number of independent reviews
  • Clear, itemised pricing with nothing hidden
  • Insurance provided without fuss
  • Sensible advice on how many tables you actually need
  • Knowledge of local venues
  • Extras that add real value, such as branded fun money, a photo booth, or a live roulette display board

A Note on “Cheap”

The cheapest quote is rarely the best value. A fun casino is on show for the whole evening. A poor table, a disengaged dealer or a game that keeps stalling is noticed by every guest. Paying a little more for a company with a track record is almost always the better decision. And in our experience, the price difference is usually small.
